I got the deluxe scratching post for my kitten, Sabu, when he was 3 months old (when I first got him) and he loved it from the very beginning, which I was so relieved about, as I am totally against declawing, but was a little concerned about his claws and scratching things in the house. He's 7 months now and uses his scratching post every day. He likes to stretch on it, as well as scratch. And he prides himself on climbing up on the top and balancing on all four feet and surveying everything going on. And I also purchased the bird on a wire, which he adores. We've had it for about 3-4 months now, and he still loves it, carries it around the apartment with him. It drives him crazy when I have the bird like "look" at him with the head part. I have the bird peek around the corner of the door at him in our apartment, and he loves to attack and grab it. And then we also have the mouse on a wire - we've had a lot of fun with that too. He loves to chase it and bat it. He chewed its tail off. I put it away when we're done playing - only let him have it under supervision. He loves the way it moves. Keep up the great work about enlightening people on declawing - I stumbled upon your products and website when I was looking for a really high quality scratching post for him, and I really liked all the information on how to train him to use it and the explanations on how cats need to scratch. I like to trim his cute little nails - I wait until he's sleeping and relaxed in the afternoon, and then it's like he's getting a manicure. He doesn't mind it one bit. I tell everyone I come in contact with how bad it is to declaw - I didn't realize it myself years back, and now I'd never do it - it sounds really horrible. So I was determined that there would be no way I'd let that happen to Sabu - he's a very happy-go-lucky, frisky boy, and I want to keep him happy. Anyway, thanks again for your great products!! I was eyeing the Mondo, maybe sometime in the future - but it looks like a cat's fantasy wish!
